In general though, if you're looking for bass, you should try and find a set of headphones with a warmer/bassier natural sound signature, and EQ down if you find it too overwhelming. If boosting the lower frequencies gives you the bass you crave without causing distortion or clipping, then that's great. You will have to physically disconnect the headphones if you want to use your speakers for the sound. Whether they're a $30 bargain-bin special or $800 audiophile-grade cans.
